IBM is consolidating two Lotus software technical resources for
developers into a new Web site, the Lotus Developer Domain.
The new Lotus Developer Domain replaces Notes.net and the Lotus
Developer Network. The main reason for the change is to bring
together in one place content previously scattered across several
sites, Jeanette Horan, IBM's vice-president of worldwide
development and support for Lotus software, said.
"Previously, if you wanted a beta of Domino, you'd go to one place;
if you wanted a beta download of Sametime, you'd go to a different
place. This is bringing everything together under one umbrella, so
it's much easier for our users to find information," she said.
The change is part of an overall IBM software group initiative to
create a common look-and-feel across its developer sites, in
anticipation of the company's upcoming DeveloperWorks Live
conferences in San Francisco, USA, Horan said.
The Lotus Developer Domain includes all the content from the old
sites, along with new features such as enhanced discussion forums
for each Lotus product and Product Pages, a site section organising
technical resources on Lotus software by product line.
The Lotus Developer Domain can be accessed at

through the IBM developerWorks Web site at
