CSC nabs US Navy IT contract

Wednesday 06 March 2002 11:57
The US Navy's Naval Undersea Warfare Centre has awarded a software support contract to IT services and outsourcing provider Computer Sciences (CSC).

If all options on the contract are exercised, it could be worth $30m (£21m) over an eight-year period.

The IT system, called the Navy Training Management and Planning System (NTMPS), is used for training and education of Navy and Marine Corps personnel.

CSC has provided services related to the NTMPS since 1986, including system maintenance and operation. The contract involves the transformation of NTMPS into a Web-based system.
