The latest version of McAfee's ePolicy Orchestrator antivirus
management software boosts the number of desktop machines it can
administer to 250,000.
According to McAfee, the upgrade enables IT administrators to
manage McAfee desktop antivirus products and Symantec's desktop and
server antivirus tools.
ePolicy Orchestrator 2.5 now offers management support for up to
250,000 desktop systems from a single console on a single server.
The previous version supported up to 100,000 systems.
The software is designed to help IT managers maintain corporate
antivirus policy. Software updates can be pushed to remote and
network users.
Combined with the built-in alert system that sends virus outbreak
warnings by e-mail, pager or other devices to IT staff, McAfee said
the updated software could help companies fight the spread of
viruses.
