Hello! magazine’s website is now offering a Java- and SMS-based daily celebrity news service to mobile users.
Hello! has teamed up with 2K development to offer the Java-based service, which allows users to download photos as well as news stories to complement the SMS service which just provides stories.
The magazine is using 2K’s jbag.net to produce the content. The solution allows businesses to create and deliver branded mobile Java or Wap applications to consumers within minutes.
Tree Elven, website editor at hellomagazine.com, said, "Consumers are becoming more demanding with regard to mobile content and accessibility, and we're now ready to meet their needs."
"Products such as jbag.net enable content owners to take their destinies into their own hands," said Abraham Joseph, chief executive officer at research and consulting firm Inteligentis.
"This can be very attractive not only to major content owners, but also to second and third tier players that have less bargaining power with distribution channels."
