Global services company EDS and PWC Consulting, the management consulting unit of PricewaterhouseCoopers, have formed an alliance to strengthen their position in the growing market for SAP services.

The partnership will strengthen the two companies' relationships with SAP and with their global clients, as well as generate future sales, said an EDS representative. The goal is to offer a single source for enterprise-level, end-to-end SAP enterprise resource management services.

Scott Hartz, chief executive of PWC Consulting, said: "There is huge potential for both PWC Consulting and EDS to fundamentally reshape and enhance our propositions to clients through this new relationship. EDS's core services offerings are a natural extension of, and complement to, those of PWC Consulting."

The companies said they could bring more than 10,000 SAP-trained professionals to organisations seeking to leverage SAP consulting, implementation, systems integration, outsourcing and production support services.

EDS and PWC Consulting said they initially plan to focus on US companies and later include global companies.
