An internet information service for people going through the processes of separation and divorce has been launched.

Developed in association with WorldPay, which builds secure payment systems for e-commerce sites, Divorce-Online aims to bring legal information to the general public in an easy-to-understand format, while reducing the costs and the difficulties involved for those going through the process.

It provides financial, legal and property advice and offers access to resources on any of these issues, including others such as emotional counselling. In addition, for a fee of between £50 and £80, Divorce-Online says it will gather and complete all the court documentation users require to initiate legal proceedings. These forms are then e-mailed to users within one working day of their request (plus confidential questionnaire and payment) being received.

"Our aim isn't to be a substitute for legal advice but to provide information and support to empower our users to confront issues as they arise throughout the divorce process," explains Mark Keenan, operations director at Divorce-Online. "The WorldPay payment system allows us to take away one of the most frustrating parts of the process - waiting. With the instant credit card payment we are able to have all the forms completed and checked by the next working day." Further details are available at www.divorce-online.co.uk.
