Without a doubt the most popular programming language of the year, Java has surpassed all other IT skills to become QA Training's best technology course seller for 2000.
The company, which is the UK's largest IT training provider, says that demand for Java tuition has been so great that it has added four new Java courses for experienced developers to its portfolio, and has scheduled an extra 35 training dates in an effort to meet customer requests.
"Java technology has matured and advanced but its popularity can be put down to more than that. A new millennium has given a kick start to the desire to embrace new developments in technology such as e-commerce," comments Elizabeth Shimmin, product commercial manager at QA.
QA has run 175 Java courses over the past 12 months and says it has trained over 2,000 delegates from all industry sectors.
Basic courses include Java Primer for Developers and Java for non-C Programmers, while advanced tuition is offered in courses such as the recently added Java and XML development; Java web development; Developing applications for Java 2 standard edition; and Enterprise development with Java. However, all tuition is classroom based and run on weekdays only.
