IBM has published the SOA Business Catalogue to make it easier for companies to adopt service oriented architectures.
SOAs enable firms to quickly build web-based applications in response to the changing needs of their business.
The SOA Business Catalogue is a compendium of reusable templates, code and best-practice business models for 15 different industries.
The catalogue initially has up to 600 reusable resources, and is designed to accelerate SOA creation and solve specific business problems, said IBM. It includes adapters, which allow IT departments to connect their existing environments to web services.
