SAP has launched a hosted customer relationship management software service offering an on-demand service from £45 per user per month.
SAP will be competing against the likes of hosted CRM leader Salesforce.com; Oracle, which recently acquired main Salesforce.com rival Siebel Systems; and Microsoft, which also recently launched a hosted CRM solution.
The SAP offering will allow users to manage sales and contacts and integrate the information to desktop productivity applications.
SAP’s hosted platform is also designed to allow users to migrate to an orthodox in-house-controlled system if their business needs change, said SAP.
SAP will first ship the sales module of the platform, and plans to follow that up with a marketing on-demand module in the next quarter of this year.
A service on-demand module will debut in the third-quarter, and will deliver features such as call centre management.
