Lloyds TSB has announced a new multimillion-pound business process outsourcing deal with finance industry IT specialist Xansa which will increase the amount of IT services the bank sources from India.

Xansa already supports some back-office processes at Lloyds TSB. Under the new five-year contract, the supplier will take on further back-office processes to enable the bank to provide more personalised customer services.
Ian Thompson, Lloyds TSB's director of group operational services, said, "Our partnership with Xansa expands our Indian capability and provides greater flexibility to our service operations."
Lloyds TSB awarded IBM a £500m contract to supply voice and data services in December 2004. It followed this up with a £170m desktop outsourcing contract with Fujitsu Services in spring 2005.
