Microsoft releases Windows Server 2003 R2 preview

Microsoft has released a “customer preview program beta” of Windows Server 2003 R2, the forthcoming update to Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1.

Microsoft has released a “customer preview program beta” of Windows Server 2003 R2, the forthcoming update to Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1.

R2 is scheduled for full release by the end of 2005. It will be designed to provide improved branch office server solutions, and better identity and access management.

Microsoft is also promising improved storage management and support for better application development.

The preview, otherwise known as “Release candidate zero (RC0)”, is available for download at: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/r2
