Tibco Software has introduced software for integrating radio frequency identification data with enterprise applications.
Event data generated when RFID tags are read needs to be aggregated from readers and disparate facilities to drive business processes. Tibco's RFID Interchange is designed to link this information with enterprise applications to automate tasks such as order fulfilment and warehouse management.
It is intended to streamline operations and enabling up-to-date details of orders, lead times and inventory to be viewed at each stage in the supply chain process.
The product works with leading RFID readers and printers and supports the EPC Global Application Level Event specifications and real-time streaming of information from RFID edge devices. It also offers centralised configuration and management of devices.
TNT Logistics is an early adopter of the technology. It has used it to build an RFID system integrated into its existing supply chain execution processes.
