Enterprise resource planning software supplier SSA Global Technologies is to acquire customer relationship management (CRM) software firm Epiphany in a $329m deal.

The move is the latest in a string of acquisitions by SSA over the past two years, picking up ERP supplier Baan, e-commerce supplier Ironside, supply chain execution supplier EXE and process manufacturing solutions provider Marcam.

SSA and Epiphany share a significant number of customers and use similar technology in their products, with Epiphany’s applications based on a services oriented architecture and built using the same Java 2 Enterprise Edition technology as the recently released SSA Technology Architecture.

Mike Greenough, chairman, president and chief executive of SSA Global, said: “CRM is an important growth market and Epiphany has innovative solutions that are highly respected for their robust functionality, technology infrastructure and ease-of use.”
