Microsoft warns of three critical patches next week

Microsoft will next Tuesday (8 February) release 13 security patches to plug holes in the Windows operating system and some Microsoft applications.

At least three of the flaws are described by Microsoft as "critical".

There will be nine patches for the Windows operating system; one for both Sharepoint and Office; one for the .net Framework; one for Office and Visual Studio; and one for Windows, Windows Media Player and MSN Messenger.

In line with its advanced security notice policy Microsoft has not released any further information about the vulnerabilities.
