The two companies will partner to bring to market a wider range of preconfigured, pretested hardware and software bundles, according to Sun representatives.
Off-the-shelf SAN (storage area network) configurations, preconfigured networks for server and storage consolidation, and even high-performance computing clusters will be just a few of the pretested hardware and software solutions that will become available from Sun as part of its renewed relationship with Deloitte.
Each of the pretested product suites will aim to solve specific business technology problems for customers, such as data continuance. Time to deployment of the new products will also be accelerated as the pretested components of the products will be much easier to assemble on site, claim Sun representatives.
Sun will offer its Sun ONE (Open Net Environment) atop the company's Solaris operating environment with each of the future product bundles.
