One of the issues that users routinely grapple with is database outage during upgrades, said Richard Butterfield, chief executive of OuterBay Technologies.
OuterBay will unveil LiveArchive, which is designed to enhance database performance by moving excess historical data to storage. LiveArchive lessens production outage time because historical data is upgraded separately from production data.
Icelerate is also targeting the upgrade process with a set of tools designed to identify and assess the customisations required for Oracle upgrades.
Other OAUG-related announcements include news from IT Convergence about helpdesk support for Oracle databases, and an educational service for Oracle technical and project teams, called E-Business Suite.
MetricStream plans to introduce an update Enterprise Performance management platform for supply chains, while Absolute Technologies will debut the latest version of BBB Intelligence.
However, perhaps the biggest issue for users at the show will be the Oracle 11i release itself. Jeremy Young, president of the OAUG, said issues surrounding an 11i upgrade would be prominent themes at the conference.
