Exclusive: Domino's Pizza tech chief resigns

Domino's IT director Jane Kimberlin is leaving the fast-food company this week to set up her own technology consultancy.

According to a spokeswoman for the company, Kimberlin has four direct reports, but the firm is yet to decide whether one of them will take charge of the IT department or external recruitment will take place.

Some IT projects are coming to an end and some are planned to start, so the timing for the departure was right, said the spokeswoman, adding the move had been in discussion for some time.

One of the highlights of Kimberlin's four-year stint was the establishment of the firm's online strategy, which saw the introduction of more than 17 digital multi-channel retail platforms, which include SMS ordering and a virtual store on Second Life.

"I would like, on behalf of everyone at Domino's, to thank Jane for her hard work and commitment. We have all very much enjoyed working with Jane and we wish her every success for the future," said Domino's Pizza chief executive Chris Moore.
