Planning your holiday? Your "staycation"? Avoid the crowds (or follow them) on Vodafone's UKHols map, a real-time guide to the most popular holiday destinations, based on Twitter feeds.

Vodafone commissioned the map from cult software developer Ben Marsh, who developed the Twitter snow map. The Holsmap captures detail through constant updates on users' trips and displays information in the form of an interactive map.

Tweeters can see the top 10 holiday destinations, have their own live holiday reviews at their fingertips, and use the map as a holiday planner.

After they write "#ukhols" in a tweet, they can add their age, sex, first half of the UK postcode, destination and information on the destination to twitter to put their quick review on the map.

The #ukhols map will record the trends in real time and give tweeters a snapshot look at the hottest places to holiday this summer. Vodafone customers can text to update the #ukhols map on the shortcode 86444. Everyone can tweet from any medium they choose.
