Performanance Solutions unveils IPFX products

Converged applications developer Performance Solutions has launched its computer telephony integration (CTI) solution called IPFX.

Performance Solutions' sales director, Cameron Harris said the company started producing CTI systems on PABXs in 1995 and then started developing applications for IP in 2000. Now the company claims to have more than 1,000 customers with some 120,000 end points.

"With a typical PABX each site requires a PABX so you had to interface with all of them," Harris said. "With IP you have one application suite which can be deployed across the entire enterprise."

Performance Solutions developed IPFX to be a "full phone system" in software on top of Windows with a Linux version coming.

IPFX integrates IP phones, softphones and video all through Sip; other features include voicemail, unified messaging and presence.

"IPFX addresses 90% of the SME market and for enterprises we have developed Vision which sits on top of Cisco's CallManager or NEC PABXs," Harris said.

All the company's software is developed in Australia and New Zealand.

"Local development has the innovation and ability to address market needs," he said. "There are a lot of software developers in Australia and its good to see others developing applications in communications for this region."

Harris said IPFX was built for the Australian market and overseas products tend to be tailored to the way they communicate. Performance Solutions' founder Kevin Plumpton claims there are 20 world-firsts in IPFX.

"For example, IPFX integrates with Outlook and Lotus Notes and allows you to see others who are on the phone in other countries," Plumpton said.

"Major players are looking to partner with us because of the uniqueness of what we have done," Harris said. "Most people say there is nothing like what we have anywhere in the world."
