Enterprise management software providerBMC Softwarehas teamed up with security software
firm McAfee to develop software to detect and fix security policy
violations.
The partnership is aimed at integrating BMC
BladeLogic Client Automation with McAfee Policy Auditor, McAfee
ePolicy Orchestrator and security and remediation information
from McAfee Labs.
The joint product will help businesses identify, report, patch
and remediate security policy violations and ensure compliance with
corporate policies and regulatory requirements, the companies
said.
Last month, McAfee and PC 3.0 products provider
Phoenix Technologies formed a partnership to provide a secured
computing cloud for PC notebook and netbook users.
Paul Avenant, vice-president of enterprise service management at
BMC, said that bringing IT operations and security together in a
single, integrated solution aims to remove conflict.
"In addition to increasing compliance and speed to remediation,
the integration can also drive down IT costs by reducing the amount
of resources required to maintain systems integrity," he said.
The BMC and McAfee joint system will be available in Q4 2009
from both suppliers.
