Mozilla has released an update of Firefox that fixes six bugs as it continues to gain share of the internet browser market.

Firefox's market share has gone up 3% in ten months, while Microsoft's dominant Internet Explorer has slipped by about 7% according to a market survey.

In that time Mozilla announced several security updates as well as the availability of the first release of Mobile Firefox in October.

The latest security updates in version 3.0.6 include only one critical problem relating to a JavaScript vulnerability that could allow an attacker to run unauthorised code.

Of the other vulnerabilities fixed, two were rated as high risk, one moderate and two low.

The latest version of Firefox also fixes several stability issues, said Mozilla.

In previous versions of Firefox, some users experienced a problem where parts of the screen were not properly displaying after Firefox was open for long periods of time.

There is improved ability for scripted commands to work properly with plug-ins, client user IDs have been removed from crash reports, and issues with the display of some Indic scripts have been fixed, Mozilla said.
