
Technology consultant Lab49 is developing an application
for the Apple iPhone that enables share traders to manage their
investments.
Lab49, the financial services
division of IT services company Corpus, said it had seen growing
demand for financial applications for the new iPhone platform,
especially among hedge funds.
Users are looking for tools to provide real-time information,
data visualisation, mobile workflow management and monitoring, as
well as management of trading applications, it said.
The company already offers
Lab49
Capital, an iPhone application that enables buy-side portfolio
managers to track the performance of their investments in real time
on the hand-held device.
Marc Jacobs, Lab49 director, said the new iPhone platform
presented significant opportunities to firms that are buying and
selling
"The extension of financial applications to workforces across
multiple floors, buildings, geographies and client sites faster
response times to complex financial, legal and technical events and
quicker time to market, all make for a new wave of applications
that can be applied throughout the financial enterprise," he
said.
