Adobe has unveiled its
LiveCycle
Enterprise Suite (ES) Update 1, a product the company has said
will help businesses and governments support customers, citizens
and business partners.
There are three parts to the product. LiveCycle Content Services
ES enables organisations to create a process or application
integrated with enterprise content, based on a partnership between
Adobe and Alfresco Software, a provider of open source content
management tools. Adobe said the product offers businesses software
to help users collaborate on, create, store, manage and secure
content.
The second component, LiveCycle PDF Generator 3D ES, enables
users to share two- and three-dimensional information, which Adobe
said should improve communication, accelerate development cycles
and lower costs.
Adobe Solution Accelerators is the third component. These are
frameworks and best practices methodologies designed to help IT
departments develop Livecycle applications. Adobe said it would
initially offer two accelerators: Enrollment Solution Accelerator
and the Correspondence Management Solution Accelerator. These are
tailored for financial services and government organizations when
enrolling customers or citizens in services and personalizing
correspondence communications, Adobe said.
LiveCycle ES Update 1 is expected to become available in July
2008. Adobe Solution Accelerators are expected to become available
in late summer 2008 and will be free of charge.
Additional information on the new
Solutions Accelerators also can be found on Adobe's
website.
