Social networkingsite MySpace is launching a site for MySpace platform developers.

The MySpace Developer Platform site will go live on 5 February.

Amit Kapur, one of the company's top business executives, has been promoted to chief operating officer, with direct responsibility for the growth of the MySpace Developer Platform.

"MySpace is committed to the developer community, and will actively work to help developers monetise and promote their applications," the company said.

Those interested can already visit the site to pre-register their interest. The MySpace Developer site will empower developers to immediately learn about the platform, build applications and test their innovations in a live environment, MySpace said.

Globally localised versions of the developer site will roll out in the coming weeks.
