Hotel and venues group De Vere has outsourced its IT
support toCMS.
Contractor CMS is now the contact on hardware and software
issues for over 5,000 De Vere staff at its 50 hotels, leisure and
fitness clubs and 26 management training venues.
De Vere was bought by private equity company AHG and
subsequently merged with training venue company Verve Venues, where
CMS Group already provided IT support. The abdication of IT
support became a priority after two company IT systems were
merged.
De Vere will integrate its two sets of datacentres and
consolidate systems to run on Citrix thin client, establishing a
single hardware platform. Outsourcing IT support makes a compelling
business case at so many levels, said De Vere IT director Joanne
Stanford. "CMS is a strong partner that can provide technical
consultancy, implementation and support. So we get consistency of
thought and, most importantly, responsibility," she said.
Andrew Coop, managing director at CMS Group, said the company
had no plans to employ any IT staff from De Vere.
