Marks & Spencer will run a single ordering platform
across its stores, call centre and website by the end of the
year.
The retailer built the ordering platform for a transactional
website it launched last month. Its call centre is already live on
the platform.
When Marks & Spencer moves instore terminals onto the
platform, it will be one of the first large UK retailers to have
integrated all sales channels with its back-office supply chain
systems. The move should enable efficiencies and a single view of
customers.
Marks & Spencer plans to have new PCMS till systems in all
of its stores by 2010.
