HP is to bundle a mobile data encryption program in its
business notebook and tablet PCs.
HP is including the SafeBoot encryption technology in the PCs to help
firms protect their intellectual property, business documents,
customer data and employee records.
SafeBoot delivers two-factor pre-boot access control and
FIPS-certified
encryption technologies.
“HP selected SafeBoot for its ability to easily deploy and scale
throughout the enterprise, PKI infrastructure integration and
policy management capabilities,” said Carol Hess-Nickels, director
of worldwide business notebook marketing in the Personal Systems
Group at HP.
She said, “Our work with SafeBoot provides customers with some
of the most robust and effective data protection technology
available, and combats the pervasive problem of laptop theft and
data compromise without creating a large footprint on the IT
infrastructure.”
SafeBoot is already used by 3m users around the world, said
SafeBoot.
