The services arm of
Computacenter has acquired Allnet, the
network integration and structured cabling company owned by
Cable & Wireless.
The profitable firm has been acquired for an undisclosed amount
and employs almost 200.
The acquisition is the second major recent acquisition made by
Computacenter, after completing the deal to buy services firm
Digica.
Kate Hanaghan, an analyst at Ovum, said, “This acquisition sends
out a good message. For too long the firm’s services business has
tended to live in the shadows of its much larger reselling
cousin.
“But with the Digica and Allnet purchases under its belt, the
company is deepening its capability and demonstrating how serious
services are to its future,”
she said.
