Open source disc encryption solution updated

The latest version of the free open-source disc encryption software TrueCrypt is now available for download.
The software, designed for Windows Vista, XP and 2000 and Linux operating systems allows users to encrypt an entire hard disc partition or a storage device such as a USB flash drive.
They can then create a virtual encrypted disc within a file and mount it as a real disc.
Among the new features in TrueCrypt 4.3 are full compatibility with 32-bit and 64-bit Windows Vista; support for devices and file systems that use a sector size other than 512bytes (such as new hard drives, USB flash drives, DVD-RAM, and MP3 players); and auto-dismount, when a host device (a USB flash drive for instance) is inadvertently removed.
Some portions of the TrueCrypt device driver have been completely redesigned and several bugs have also been fixed, said the TrueCrypt project.
