PC maker Boston has launched a range of
“climate-neutral” servers and workstations.
The energy-efficient products are linked to a carbon-offset
programme Boston has signed with an independent CO2 offset provider
Climate Care.
The deal will ensure that the maximum amount of CO2 produced by
using a Boston CN-Superserver or CN-Workstation over three years
will be offset by reductions made through a range of projects in
renewable energy and energy efficiency.
Boston said this would not only fight climate change but also
bring benefits to communities.
More details on the Climate Care green projects have not been
disclosed, but Boston promises more details at this week’s Cebit
technology show in Hanover, where the servers and workstations are
being demonstrated.
Boston uses both Intel and AMD processors in its platforms. HP
has also just launched a range of green PCs.
