The Early Learning Centre chain is updating its
management reporting systems by investing in a solution from
Hyperion, the business performance management software
supplier.
Gavin Jones, finance director at Early Learning Centre, said,
“We had previously used a spreadsheet-based system to meet our
management reporting needs.
“However, the business has grown and changed substantially in
recent years and we realised we needed to improve our approach to
management reporting in order to meet the changing needs of the
business.”
The company has 215 stores across the UK and Ireland, 78
international franchise stores in 14 countries across the world,
and an expanding internet and mail order operation, along with
wholesale arrangements involving several partners in the UK and
worldwide.
Business intelligence consultancy Analitica was brought in
initially to advise Early Learning Centre on what software to
deploy to meet its requirements.
As a result, Early Learning Centre chose Hyperion Essbase to
deliver real-time analytic processing.
The platform is designed to support faster and more frequent
data refreshing in critical BI applications, such as customer
segment analysis, product profitability and capacity planning.
It also helps businesses to better understand customer segments
and behaviour patterns.
Jones added, “With Hyperion Essbase, we will have a far more
dynamic, accurate and efficient approach to management reporting,
budget forecasting and channel analysis than we had previously. Our
analytic capability will be greatly enhanced and we are confident
it will enable us to make better informed decisions about the
running of the business going forward.”
