Microsoft has replaced the head of its Microsoft
Business Solutions (MBS) division, as the company continues to
build up its share of the enterprise resource planning and customer
relationship management market.
Corporate vice-president Satya Nadella has been selected to
succeed Doug Burgum as leader of MBS. For the past five years,
Nadella has been responsible for MBS research and development
(R&D) worldwide.
Microsoft business division president Jeff Raikes said Nadella
had helped to ship 10 major software releases since 2001, spanning
Microsoft Dynamics ERP, CRM and Office small business product
lines.
Microsoft seriously entered the ERP market in 2001 after
acquiring Great Plains, and has now carved out a growing share of
the ERP and CRM market, particularly with mid-sized companies.
