Oracle has patched more than 60 security vulnerabilities
in its software products as part of a quarterly patching
cycle.
Around 30 of the bugs could be used by remote attackers to
exploit a user’s system, Oracle said. No workarounds for the
security holes exist and the company has urged users to patch their
systems as soon as possible.
The July critical patch update tackles 23 flaws in Oracle's
databases, one for its Collaboration Suite, and 10 in Oracle
Application Server.
There are 20 fixes related to Oracle’s E-Business Suite and
Applications, four for Enterprise Manager, two for the PeopleSoft
Enterprise portal, and one for JD Edwards software.
The patch bundle also includes fixes for four security
vulnerabilities in client software that works with the Oracle
database. This means users have to patch desktops as well as
servers for complete security.
Previous Oracle security updates have required server updates
only.
