At its annual Worldwide Partner Conference in the US
today, Microsoft announced a long-awaited “on-demand” version of
its CRM software, although release dates were not
given.
Microsoft Dynamics CRM Live is the supplier’s software-as-a-service
version of the mid-market CRM software.
There will be two products, Dynamics CRM and CRM Live. Both are
roles-based, and have a Microsoft Outlook look and feel. Both will
have standard CRM capabilities designed for small and mid-sized
firms respectively.
Users will be able to configure CRM Live from the user interface,
the application tier and the database levels, without needing to
writer any code, Microsoft said.
CRM Live will also be integrated into Microsoft's Windows Live and
Office Live, which are online services designed for consumers and
small businesses.
Oracle is also developing on-demand CRM software, and there are
several established suppliers including Netsuite and
Salesforce.com.
