IBM has released two free security tools to enable
software developers to enhance automatic data encryption and
increase security in Java applications.
The tools have been added to Big Blue’s on-line AlphaWorks
programme, set up ten years ago to deliver free development
tools.
One of the new tools is IBM Secure Shell Library for Java, which
automatically encrypts data, including passwords, as it moves from
one computer to another.
IBM has also introduced the Security Workbench Development
Environment for Java tool.
This solution is designed to enable developers to configure and
validate Java applications, which support both the Java and the
Open Services Gateway Initiative (OSGI) industry security
standards.
The tools are now available to developers from IBM’s AlphaWorks
website.
