The British Computer Society and the Institute of IT
Service Management have made a deal that will allow members of one
organisation to join the other.
The agreement means BCS will recognise the institute’s
membership requirements as being equivalent to its own for its
“associate” and “member” grades, while the institute will authorise
BCS to nominate its members for corresponding institute membership
grades.
The deal is aimed at boosting the drive for professionalism in
IT and giving members the benefits of belonging to both
bodies.
BCS chief executive David Clarke said, “This agreement clearly
demonstrates our commitment to offering our members the best
possible services available. Aligning our membership with the
Institute gives those members who are eligible, an extra path with
which to develop their careers and their professionalism within the
industry.”
