Enterprise, a support services company to the private
and public sectors, has chosen Cognito to provide a strategic
mobile communications product that is wireless, real-time and
integrated for data exchange with office systems and
colleagues.
The first programme to benefit from this product is the social
housing contract managed by Enterprise-Liverpool, an Enterprise
joint venture responsible for delivering street-based and housing
repair services with and on behalf of Liverpool City Council.
Enterprise is also planning roll-outs of its mobile product to
the company’s telecoms and domestic gas contracts.
The contract award to Cognito is the result of a strategic
review by Enterprise where the company identified a critical need
for enhanced remote workforce management to achieve improved
customer service, greater productivity gains and a reduction in
costs.
The review followed a significant expansion of
Enterprise-Liverpool’s business in a move to cover all the city
council’s housing stock -some 19,000 properties - in February
2004.
“We are committed to continually improving our offering to
clients. With this in mind the reliability, efficiency and
effectiveness inherent in the Cognito solution made the product
selection easy,” said Graham Billsborough, IT director of
Enterprise.
“We decided to enhance our already effective work distribution
system with an electronic, wireless solution. By doing so, this has
enabled us to perform a greater volume of work whilst freeing up
time for our management team and coordinators to analyse and
respond to real time information,” he said.
After an extensive search of the mobile data market place,
Cognito was chosen as a partner that could provide a "best fit"
solution. The fact that Cognito takes over the entire running,
management and support of the mobile data product, leaves
Enterprise free to concentrate on running its own business.
