ServGate Technologies is adding anti-spam software to
the upgrades available for its EdgeForce multi-function security
platforms.
Based on McAfee's anti-spam software SpamAssassin, the new
software module can work with ServGate’s anti-virus tool, which is
also based on McAfee software. McAfee claims the anti-spam software
catches 95% of all spam.
Standard EdgeForce platforms come with firewall and VPN gateway
software installed and can be enhanced with additional software
modules called FlexModules. The remaining FlexModules boost
firewall and VPN speeds.
For ServGate platforms with both anti-spam and anti-virus
modules, the spam module first filters out junk e-mail and the
anti-virus module filters only the e-mail that remains, saving
processing time.
The anti-spam module is available now and the price depends on
the EdgeForce model for which it is intended. For a basic
EdgeForce, a one-year anti-spam licence costs $1,295. For EdgeForce
Plus it costs $2,495 and for EdgeForce Accel the price is
$3,995.
