Content management software developer Vignette has released the
latest version of its flagship product suite, Vignette V7.
The Vignette V7 content management applications include: Vignette
Content Management Group Suite 7 and Vignette Content Management
Business Suite 7, which will hit the market by the end of the year,
and Vignette Content Management Enterprise Suite 7 which will begin
shipping in the first half of 2003.
At its Vignette Village 2002 conference, the company demonstrated
the suite's latest Web-based features such as the virtual content
repository for connecting all digital content, the business process
modeller for workflow management and the interactive command centre
for content and portal management.
The company began adding support for standards such as XML
(Extensible Markup Language), WSDL (Web Services Definition
Language) and Soap (Simple Object Access Protocol) along with
directory services, including UDDI (Universal Description,
Discovery and Integration) earlier this year as a way to speed up a
user's ability to author and manage content and collect data from
various locations within an organisation or on the Internet.
Vignette is extending its support for Web services with its
"real-time enterprise" strategy, focusing on using online
technologies for integration, information, interaction and
management.
