Commerce One has announced six technology partnerships to support
the Commerce One Web services platform and its supplier
relationship management application.
Actional, Baltimore Technologies, Cognos, Contivo, Sonic Software
and VeriSign will all make technology contributions to the Commerce
One 6.0 product suite. The Web services solutions are designed to
help Commerce One customers connect and optimise applications and
business processes throughout the enterprise.
Initially the solution will focus where demand is greatest from its
customers - integrating components of the supply network, enabling
real-time secure information exchange, and reducing operating
costs. Commerce One also announced a partnership with Saytam
Computer Services for systems integration for its Web services
solutions.
Commerce One is partnering with these vendors to ensure that its
new Web services solutions have the most secure and advanced
integration and business intelligence capabilities, said Mark
Hoffman, chairman and chief executive officer of Commerce One. The
product suite will suit companies that need more control, more
real-time visibility and increased efficiencies throughout their
supply networks, he claimed.
The partners will be addressing various aspects of Web services
integration for enterprise applications.
Baltimore Technologies will contribute security capabilities to the
Web services platform, and VeriSign brings its Trust Services
Integration Kit, which is a key component of the platform's
security architecture.
Cognos will add business intelligence technology for data
collection, aggregation and analysis, while Contivo will enhance
Commerce One's suite with data modelling, data mapping and data
transformation technology, helping the platform reduce data
integration and implementation time and costs.
Sonic Software provides a standards-based infrastructure that helps
accelerate the deployment of cost-effective integration solutions.
Actional will expose Enterprise Resource Planning and legacy system
interfaces as reusable Web services via its Actional
Soapswitch.
The Commerce One 6.0 suite will be generally available in the
beginning of next year.
