The Australian managed IP telephony market has broadened today with the launch of Integ's new Telephony as a Service product.
Under the service, customers pay a fixed monthly fee based on number of users, features and applications used. This fee covers handsets and related equipment supplied by Integ, as well as the IP telephony service itself.
Integ's CEO Ian Poole explained the rationale behind the company's latest move.
"For Australian businesses, the significant initial investment coupled with lack of internal skills required to manage these solutions have proven barriers to deployment," he said.
He also referred to a recent Gartner quote which states that demand for hosted solutions is growing.
The service will be powered by Alcatel-Lucent's communications software suite.
