Business Objects' Crystal Decisions BI platform will be combined with Netezza’s Performance Server datawarehouse to make one integrated BI solution. The two firms hope that this will make it easier and cheaper for mid-size companies to access enterprise BI power for a fraction of the resources.
The system will be sold through resellers in one or three terabyte configurations.
Todd Rowe, vice-president and general manager of worldwide mid-market business at Business Objects commented that this will allow mid-size companies to achieve greater market success from their repositories of data.
“This is about helping companies achieve ten to one hundred times the typical BI performance in a way that doesn’t put a strain on their budget or their IT resources,” said Rowe.
The two firms are working closely to develop a solution for SAP customers. Business Objects has already announced a similar deal with IBM and more will follow.
