FireScope has launched a business intelligence (BI) platform designed to let IT leaders lift the lid on their technical operations.

Sold as either a network appliance or group of distributed appliances, FireScope provides a web-based portal to help IT chiefs plan more accurately long-term growth and react quicker to fast-changing conditions.

Data from servers, applications, network equipment, point-of-sale systems, databases and VoIP are processed in real-time by FireScope’s BI engine.

Collaboration tools are included in the web portal so that companies can capture and keep the nuggets of intuitive information that staff pick up on the job. This should help cut down on training time for new employees and help improve communication between geographically dispersed IT departments.

FireScope president Mark Lynd said: “Businesses need ‘hard’ business value and [firms] need more than a network monitoring or management solution.”
