International transport firm NYK Logistics has appointed Myron Hrycyk as IT director.

Moving from the role of IT director at Unipart Advanced Logistics, Hrycyk has held a variety of senior IT roles in the manufacturing, financial services and publishing sectors.

NYK Logistics said Hrycyk’s experience would provide a clear focus and direction for its IT department.

In the short term, his objective is to achieve operational excellence in NYK’s service delivery. In addition, Hrycyk aims to develop NYK’s project management skills to support the delivery of major projects to meet strict budget, schedule and quality criteria.

Hrycyk would aim to ensure that NYK’s IT function was technologically and organisationally aligned to the current and future needs of the business, the company said.

Hrycyk said, “Having learnt a great deal and ultimately achieved everything I set out to achieve in my last role, NYK provides me with a fantastic opportunity to apply my experience to a fresh challenge, helping to meet the needs of a fast growing business in which the performance of the IT function is, quite simply, mission critical.”

Hrycyck, who is 50 years old, is a member of the British Computer Society, a Chartered Informational Technology Practitioner and sits on the Advisory Board of CIO Connect, the leading forum for Chief Information Officers and top IT executives. He is also a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
