Silentnight, the UK’s largest bed manufacturer, has awarded a three-year managed services contract worth £300,000 to systems integrator Red Squared.

Silentnight is using Red Squared to oversee the introduction of a new ERP system and to provide monitoring of its technical architecture.

Red Squared has already completed a four-month pilot to prove that it has the technical skills required by Silentnight.

The bedmaker awarded the contract because it needs individuals skilled in IBM’s storage area network, IBM’s Unix implementation AIX, Oracle and virtualisation.

Silentnight’s technical solutions manager Carl Griffiths said, “During the pilot phase, Red Squared swiftly demonstrated its capabilities and was flexible to our business demands. In establishing this relationship, we have both reduced risk and improved the service levels to the business.”
