The owner and chief executive of an online investigation company has been arrested at a hackers’ conference.

Steven Rambam, chief executive of online investigation firm Pallorium was arrested by the FBI at the Hackers On Planet Earth conference in New York at the weekend.

Rambam was scheduled to make a presentation at the conference that claims to bring together “thousands of computer hackers, phone phreaks, net activists, government spooks, and a whole lot of curious people from all corners of the globe”.

It is understood that Rambam was due to describe how he obtained huge volumes of confidential data on a volunteer target from public and private databases.
