Entuity, the developer of Eye of the Storm (EYE) network management software, has announced that Switch and Data, a leading provider of carrier-neutral colocation and internet exchange services, has selected EYE as its network management system.
EYE will manage and monitor both internally-facing and customer-facing transport equipment, helping Switch and Data to operate 34 facilities in 23 markets, in what it says is the largest footprint of any neutral provider in North America.
Switch and Data says its key to accelerated growth is its ability to provide rapidly deployable access to more than 340 unique networks. To maintain what it feels is such a competitive advantage, the company decided to standardise its infrastructure management technology, with a focus on capacity planning, service level assurance, and visibility into performance and quality of service management.
Beyond the well-defined technical criteria for its evaluation of the top suppliers in the network management market, Switch and Data sought a partner that demonstrated a customer-centric culture.
EYE has been deployed in Switch and Data’s network operations centre for development of best practices and tailored reports to meet the broad range of needs for the company’s enterprise and service provider customers. Once completed, the EYE solution will be rolled out to all of its datacentres
