Computer Sciences Corporation has picked up three outsourcing deals in Europe during the past week, which are worth around $1.2bn in total.

The latest success is a 10-year, $450m (£273m) contract with ISS, a Danish maintenance and facility services group. CSC will provide mainframe, midrange, desktop, help desk, network, support and application development services to more than 800 ISS European sites.

The ISS deal followed a five-year, $17m (£10.3m) agreement with Barclaycard for CSC to implement its CAMS II merchant acquiring and card issuing solution.

This is the first time that Barclaycard has moved responsibility for the technology behind its merchant acquiring business to a third party.

On Wednesday, CSC signed another 10-year IT outsourcing agreement with global telecommunications service provider Marconi. The $735m (£450m) deal, will see CSC providing services that include support and management of Marconi's IT help desk, desktop computing, networking and midrange operations.
