Businesses of all sizes could cut up to 30% off their combined IT and communications costs following the establishment of a joint venture between mobile network operator O2 and IT services provider 2e2, the companies claim.

The two firms plan to attack the £7bn outsourcing market under the O2 Unify brand, providing single sourcing for both IT and fixed, mobile, voice and data communications.

Based in Slough, O2 Unify will launch on 2 April offering managed wide area networking, cloud data services and flexible working solutions. Customers will also have full access to 2e2's extensive ICT services.

Paul Osborne, previously O2's head of professional and managed services, will head the company.
