The Information Commissioner's Office has welcomed the government's pledge to publish spending data on all transactions of more than £25,000 from today.

All departments will publish details of their spending over £25,000 for the past six months on number10.gov.ouk and data.gov.uk.
Information commissioner Christopher Graham said the announcement marked the start of a new and exciting chapter for freedom of information.
"The government's transparency agenda presents a great opportunity to take information rights to the next level and we look forward to playing our part," he said.
